Bacteria naturally produces heat as they digest your waste and the highly insulating HOTBIN locks in the heat, allowing you to hot compost. Steaming away at up to 140F (60C), you can expect compost in just 30-90 days. There's no tumbling or forking required and no issues with odor, flies, or pests like that of traditional cold composting. Designed for a 3-5 person household with a small to medium-sized garden. Leachate is naturally created as part of the HOTBIN composting process and can be used as a liquid fertilizer. The HOTBIN has a sloped internal base that funnels the liquid towards the drainage cap like water draining from a shower tray. This liquid can be drained via the cap as required. The HOTBIN is made from EPP material (not styrofoam) which is extremely durable, strong, and does not use CFCs or HCFCs in manufacturing.
